Hip and knee replacements are very common surgeries and while some incentives exist for hospitals to avoid post-surgery complications and improve care for joint surgery, the quality and cost of care for these hip and knee replacement surgeries still vary greatly among providers. This session will have presenters commenting on lessons learned from the Bundled Payment for Care Improvement (BPCI) initiative from both the CMS and the provider perspective (Cleveland Clinic). This session will balance those presentations with examples of other approaches to bundled payments around the care for joints from the private sector.
