Michael S. Sweeney(UPMC Health Plan)
Michael S. Sweeney is Vice President of Provider Network, Contracting and Reimbursement for UPMC Health Plan. In this role, he is responsible for all aspects of the provider network from contracting and rate negotiation, to network development and provider regulations.
Formerly an Associate Vice President for Reimbursement, Contracting, and Network Development, Michael has been with the Health Plan since 2003. He has been instrumental in the development and implementation of UPMC Health Plan’s Shared Savings Program.
A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Michael has over 20 years of experience in the healthcare field, having worked with the Cleveland Clinic and Aetna USHealthcare before joining the Health Plan.
