Dr. Harris-Salamone is Vice President of Health Information Technology for HSAG. In this capacity, she directs overall operations, work activities, and strategic planning activities for physician office and electronic health record (EHR)-related federal contracts and subcontracts. She is currently in charge of the Improving Health for Populations and Communities for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) contracts and the Regional Extension Center subcontracts for both Arizona and California. In addition, she serves as HSAG’s Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Compliance Officer. During the past five years, Dr. Harris-Salamone has overseen the growth and success of EHR-related contracts for HSAG. She has nearly 20 years of medical informatics experience, which includes creating implementation strategies, supporting organizational change, and conducting HIPAA gap analyses. She also has conducted evaluation research on rural healthcare issues related to rural telemedicine, EHRs, and Internet use by the elderly in their efforts to acquire healthcare information. Dr. Harris-Salamone also holds a Master in Public Administration and Doctorate of Philosophy in Higher and Continuing Education from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
