Mark I. Froimson, MD, MBA, serves as a member of the Health Care Payment Learning & Action Network’s Clinical Episode Payment Work Group. He is Executive Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer for Trinity Health, one of the largest multi-hospital, non-profit health care systems in the nation. In this role, and as a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Froimson is charged with overseeing the transformation of the Trinity Health’s Clinical Enterprise and holds the responsibility of improving quality, safety, experience, education, informatics, and efficiency of care. Dr. Froimson formerly served as President and Chief Executive Officer at Euclid Hospital, a Cleveland Clinic Hospital. There Dr. Froimson also served as a staff surgeon in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery for over 16 years, during which time he held numerous administrative leadership positions. Among his many honors and awards, Dr. Froimson has been listed in Best Doctors in America. His work has been published in notable journals such as the Journal of Arthroplasty, Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, Cleveland Clinic Journal of Medicine, and American Journal of Orthopedics, and he serves in an editorial capacity for a number of scientific publications. After receiving a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Princeton University and a medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine, Dr. Froimson completed his general surgical and orthopedic training at the University of California, Los Angeles, and Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center, respectively, followed by a fellowship in adult reconstructive surgery at the University Hospitals of Cleveland. Dr. Froimson also received an MBA degree from the Weatherhead School of Business at Case Western Reserve University.
