Jean Haynes is the chief population health officer for University of Colorado Health (UCHealth), Colorado’s Front Range health system comprised of leading community hospitals and the region’s top academic medical center. Ms. Haynes joined UCHealth in April of 2015 and is responsible for the implementation and growth of the System’s efforts to build a population-based patient care model.
Ms. Haynes has nearly 30 years of leadership and management experience in health care delivery, managed care and insurance organizations. Prior to joining UCHealth, she served as president and CEO of Univita Health Inc., a provider of home-based nursing, home medical equipment and home pharmacy therapy. Previously, she was president and CEO of Geisinger Health Plan and executive vice president of Insurance Operations for Geisinger Health System. She has also held leadership positions at Boston Medical Center HealthNet Plan, OSF HealthPlans, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Physicians Healthcare Plans and Humana/St. Petersburg General Hospital.
Ms. Haynes holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of South Florida in Tampa and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the St. Francis Medical Center College of Nursing on Peoria, Ill., from which she graduated Magna Cum Laude.
Ms. Haynes served on the board of the Alliance of Community Health Plans (ACHP) and was chairman of the National Policy Committee for ACHP. In June 2010, Ms. Haynes was appointed by Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell to serve on the State’s Health Care Reform Advisory Board.
