*Andréa Caballero (Catalyst for Payment Reform) Andréa E. Caballero is the Program Director for Catalyst for Payment Reform (CPR), an independent, non-profit corporation working to catalyze employers, public purchasers, and others to implement strategies that produce higher-value healthcare and improve the functioning of the healthcare marketplace. Andréa has over two decades of experience in non-profit programs, strategic planning, operations, and policy in the healthcare industry.
As CPR’s program director, Andréa has a broad portfolio, and specializes in measuring the amount of payment reform at the state and national level, identifying appropriate payment reforms based on qualitative and quantitative assessments of local markets, and developing request for information (RFI) and model contract language for purchasers as they procure healthcare services. Additional skills include evaluating and reporting on price transparency resources for consumers, assisting purchasers in direct contracting and pharmacy-related issues, and deep knowledge on a wide range of public policy issues. Andréa joined CPR after spending 14 years working on state and federal public policy issues for large, national health plans. Her last position was as vice president for enterprise and health services policy for UnitedHealth Group.
In addition to her duties at CPR, Andréa currently serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee for the Community Hospital of Long Beach Foundation. Andréa received her M.P.A from Brandman University and Bachelor of Arts degrees from Ripon College.
