Director of Health Systems Innovation, Community Health Plan of Washington (CHPW)

Kat Latet, Director of Health Systems Innovation at Community Health Plan of Washington (CHPW), works to ensure the plan is on the leading edge of health systems innovation and transformation. Ms. Latet leads CHPW’s engagement and participation in major state-based reform efforts, including Washington’s Medicaid Transformation activities; systems efforts to address the social determinants of health; Washington’s public option; Cascade Care; innovative financing, including value-based payment strategy and design; and innovative community-based programs.

Prior to joining CHPW, Ms. Latet was a Senior Health Policy Analyst with Washington’s Health Care Authority. She led design and development of health system transformation policy and programs, including the State Health Care Innovation Plan, subsequent State Innovation Models Test Grant, Federally Qualified Health Center Alternative Payment Methodologies, and the Medicaid Transformation Waiver. Before moving to Washington, Ms. Latet worked in Oregon as the policy lead for the Oregon Primary Care Association where she worked in design and development of the Coordinated Care Organizations at a statewide and local level. Before moving to Oregon, Ms. Latet worked in Chicago in community organizing and political campaigns. She also served in the Peace Corps in Romania.
