Karen Wilson (Miami University of Ohio)

Director of Benefits & Wellness, Miami University of Ohio

Karen Wilson, M.A., is the Director of Benefits & Wellness for the prestigious Miami University located in Oxford, Ohio. Her extensive career in human resources provides her with broad knowledge and detailed experience in the area of strategic benefit design and retirement plan management. In her current role, she works strategically across departments to establish campus-wide health and wellness initiatives for faculty and staff. Prior to starting at Miami University, she led the benefits department for several years at TriHealtha multi-disciplinary hospital and healthcare system, located in Cincinnati, Ohio. There, she designed and managed employee retirement programs (which included Defined Benefit, Defined Contribution, and Supplemental Executive Retirement Plan plans), fringe benefits, and welfare plans.

Her professional accomplishments demonstrate a strategic ability to align the activities within benefits and wellness that support human resource initiatives, organizational goals, and objectives. Benefits are the “lifeblood” of an organization, as they enhance employee health; increase the value of “employer by choice;” and structure retirement and medical plan designs that are organizationally sustainable and allow employees to save for retirement.

Ms. Wilson is a graduate of Xavier University and holds a Master’s in Organizational Leadership from Antioch McGregor.
