Jason Spangler (Amgen) Jason M. Spangler, MD, MPH, is Executive Director of Value, Quality, and Medical Policy at Amgen, Inc., where he serves as the lead for the company on policy issues related to health economics and value, healthcare quality, and engagement with Federal payer agencies in the US. He represents Amgen on multiple councils/committees of both national quality organizations and organizations assessing healthcare value.
Dr. Spangler also serves on the Board of Directors of the Pharmacy Quality Alliance and on the Advisory Board of the University of Michigan Center for Value-Based Insurance Design. He is a Fellow of the American College of Preventive Medicine (ACPM) and serves on the Board of Regents of ACPM and as the ACPM’s Alternate Delegate to the American Medical Association.
Previously, Dr. Spangler was chief medical officer at Partnership for Prevention, a national, non-profit health policy research organization. He was also a public health and health policy consultant at Pfizer, Inc.
Dr. Spangler graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and received his MD at the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Pittsburgh and his preventive medicine residency at the Johns Hopkins University, where he was chief resident. He is board certified in general preventive medicine/public health.
