Ashish D. Parikh (Summit Medical Group) As the Senior Vice President of Quality and Medical Affairs for Summit Medical Group-CityMD, Ashish D. Parikh, M.D., helps drive the group’s vision of building healthier, kinder communities. He is respon-sible for the delivery of high-quality, high-value care through reduction in practice variation, evidence-based clinical care delivery, and provider engagement. Ever better quality and cost-effectiveness is achieved through clinical intelligence, provider education, quality improvement processes, and align-ment of incentives. Dr. Parikh oversees the development and implementation of quality measures and incentive programs to achieve optimal patient care and success in value-based contracts.
Prior to joining Summit Medical Group-CityMD, Dr. Parikh was the Senior Health and Quality Advisor for Integrated Health Services at IBM. He led efforts to improve the health of the employee popula-tion globally and was the clinical lead for global benefits, wellness, and medical programs. Before IBM, he served as the Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Saint Barnabas Medical Center. As the Medical Director of the Faculty Practice at Saint Barnabas, he led its successful transformation into a Level III NCQA recognized Patient Centered Medical Home.
Dr. Parikh went to the University of Miami for both undergraduate and medical education as part of the Honors Program in Medical Education. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Miriam Hospital, Brown University. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians, is board certi-fied in Internal Medicine, and continues to practice as a primary care internal medicine physician at Summit Medical Group, New Jersey.
