Paul McGann has been with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) since 2002 and is currently the Chief Medical Officer for Quality Improvement. Prior to joining CMS, Dr. McGann was the founding Clinical Director of the J. Paul Sticht Center on Aging of Wake Forest University in North Carolina. Dr. McGann has 15 years experience in health care policy and quality improvement at CMS. He is the Co-Founder and Co-Director of two very large national health care quality improvement learning collaboratives, The Partnership for Patients and the Transforming Clinical Practices Initiative. Dr. McGann was one of the Designers of TCPI, and was instrumental in developing the new concept of Support and Alignment Networks (SANs). Dr. McGann earned a Doctor of Medicine degree with an emphasis on Internal and Geriatric Medicine from McGill Faculty of Medicine.
