Deputy Director for the Prevention and Population Health Group, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI)

Nina Brown-Ashford is the Deputy Director for the Prevention and Population Health Group at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI). She provides leadership and oversight for an over $400 million dollar portfolio of programs aimed at improving health outcomes of Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries.  Nina has over 14 years of experience working in public health settings ranging from academia to community based organizations. Her areas of focus include health behavior, community oriented primary care, chronic disease prevention, and health equity. Nina is currently a Doctorate of Public Health candidate and also holds a Masters of Public Health in Community Oriented Primary Care from the Milken Institute of Public Health at the George Washington University. She is credentialed as a Certified Health Education Specialist and holds a certificate in Business Administration from Georgetown University.
