J. Alice Thompson is a Social Science Researcher at the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation (CMMI). At CMMI, she serves as the program lead for new model development in the Division of Health Integration and Innovation within the Prevention and Population Health Group. Ms. Thompson has a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Goucher College, master’s degree in medical sociology from UMBC and is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Maryland. Prior to working at CMMI, Ms. Thompson worked at the National Academy of Medicine where she contributed to the evaluation of the Presidents Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief and lead an evaluation of Department of Defense Global Emerging Infections Surveillance and Response System’s Avian influenza/ pandemic influenza activities. In addition, Ms. Thompson has previously worked at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) and the U.S. General Accounting Office (GAO) evaluating U.S.-funded public health programs and initiatives.
