Alexandra Chong, PhD, is a social science research analyst for CMMI. She joined CMMI in 2016. Since joining CMMI, Alexandra has overseen implementation and monitoring of the Oncology Care Model (OCM). OCM is a payment model that seeks to increase coordinated and high quality care of patients receiving chemotherapy through monthly and episode payment incentives. She has led studies and reviews focused on ensuring that clinicians participating with OCM are engaged in patient-centered care, care coordination, quality measure reporting, and the provision of enhanced services. Alexandra works closely with clinicians for additional information on billing practices and strategies for reduced expenditures.

Alexandra graduated summa cum laude from Towson University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and continued on at Towson for her masters in experimental psychology. She then received her PhD in social-health experimental psychology and a specialization in quantitative methods from Kent State University. She has extensive experience in research methodologies, statistical analyses in the context of testing the roles of interpersonal communications, stress related to chronic illnesses and health outcomes. Alexandra has published numerous peer-reviewed articles on healthcare utilization and expenditures, caregiving, and psychological well-being.
