305 Panel: Implementing Alternative Payment to Improve Pediatric Care Outcomes

While much of the focus in the evolution to alternative payment is on the adult population, payers and providers are recognizing the need to address poor outcomes and high costs of care for children with chronic care needs. This session will feature panelist discussing the factors that prompted the focus on transforming payment for pediatric conditions; how bundled payments have changed the way care is provided to patients; and the effects of alternative payments on costs and outcomes. Speakers will also describe how bundled payment and other alternative payment models for pediatric care are changing the provider-patient relationship, and what they see as the future of APMs for care for children.
