106 Dialogue Session: Supporting the Clinical Community’s Evolution Toward APMs

Dialogue Sessions provide an opportunity for Summit attendees to voice their input in response to questions posed by a skilled facilitator, two to three designated “listeners” from the payer, provider, and implementer communities, over the course of 60 minutes. The facilitator, starting with pre-developed/generative questions and topics related to the session concept, will guide the discussion, posing questions to the audience, taking questions from the audience, and ensuring that there are no lulls in the discussion.

In this dialogue session, Summit attendees will be invited to share their experiences regarding factors that pose challenges to their ability to operationalize APMs, and the effects of these challenges on their work lives and sense of professional fulfillment. Designated “listeners” from both the clinical and payer communities will hear from the audience, as well as offer their perspectives and reactions (where appropriate) on how APMs can be designed in a way to better support the medical community as it seeks to transform care. This session will focus on changing the conversation between payers and providers to ensure APMs go beyond the aims of payment and savings to better support patient-centered care.
