Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of CareAllies

Dr. Nicholas (Nick) Gettas is the senior vice president and chief medical officer of CareAllies. Providing clinical expertise to CareAllies service solutions and leading local market clinical operations, Nick is responsible for clinical strategy supporting CareAllies medical and population health services. Nick also designs innovative clinical models that assist providers with improving quality health outcomes and cost management.

Prior to joining CareAllies, Nick provided market clinical leadership for Cigna’s delivery system alliances and value-based collaborative arrangements across the country, bringing deep expertise that will directly benefit CareAllies customers and the patients they serve. In 2004, he was awarded the Cigna HealthCare President’s and Pinnacle awards in recognition of work to define and value the integration of medical and pharmacy benefits.

Before his career with Cigna, Nick served as CEO, president and medical director of Commonwealth Care of Virginia, where he initiated and developed a multi-practice Independent Physician Association (IPA) as Central Virginia’s first physician-led IPA. He also served on the faculty at Medical College of Virginia and as medical director for NYLCare during this time.

Nick has more than 35 years of clinical, teaching and administrative experience. He earned a medical degree from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Medicine.
