Based on her own experience as a clinician and advocate for high-quality maternity care, Brynne Potter co-founded both Maternity Neighborhood, which offers digital tools to support woman-centered, relationship-based maternity care, and Private Practice, an award winning electronic health record (EHR). She has worked in the field of midwifery since 1990 and has served as a member of state and national regulatory boards to develop standards of practice for quality care delivery. She was a midwife delegate to numerous national and international maternal child health initiatives, including the International Confederation of Midwives Congress, the Home Birth Consensus Summit, the US Midwifery Education, Regulation and Association Coalition, the Institute of Medicine Workshop on Research Issues in the Assessment of Birth Settings, and the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Women’s Health Registry Alliance-convened ReVITALize project for developing standardized data definitions for maternity.
