Bruce E. Landon, MD, MBA, MSc, is a professor of health care policy at Harvard Medical School and a professor of medicine at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC), where he practices internal medicine. His primary research interest is assessing the impact of different characteristics of physicians and health care organizations on physician behavior and the provision of health care services. His work has included development of a theoretical model to explain how health care organizations affect the quality of care, and he is currently involved in several projects that will help describe and quantify the impact of quality improvement strategies and financial incentives on the provision of care. He received his bachelor’s, medical degree, and MBA from the University of Pennsylvania, and an MSc in health policy and management from the Harvard School of Public Health. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and an elected member of the American Society of Clinical Investigation.
