Al Kurose, MD, MBA, FACP, co-founded Coastal Medical, a primary care-driven accountable care organization, in 1995 and has been its president and CEO since 2008. He serves on the board of directors of the Care Transformation Collaborative of Rhode Island and as faculty for the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) Population Management Executive Development Program. In addition, he is a National Association of ACOs (NAACOS) Policy Committee member and on the Healthcare Executive Advisory Council for UnitedHealth Group. Al is also on the board of directors of the Rhode Island Foundation. He graduated from the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO, and completed the Brown University Internal Medicine Residency Training Program at Rhode Island Hospital in 1991.
