Dr. Andrew Hertz is a primary care pediatrician at Suburban Pediatrics, in Shaker Heights, Ohio and Assistant Clinical Professor, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. His administrative roles include Vice-President of the Rainbow Primary Care Institute at University Hospitals, Medical Director of University Hospital’s pediatric accountable care organization Rainbow Care Connection, and Medical Director of the Rainbow Call Center, the country’s largest pediatric nurse telephone triage call center. Dr. Hertz co-authored the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation application for Transforming Pediatric Ambulatory Care: The Physician Extension Team which received a $12.8 million Health Care Innovation Award. This grant helped to establish the pediatric ACO Rainbow Care Connection. He is a past chair of the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Telehealth Care and a national speaker on the topic. He is the author of Nurse Telephone Triage published by the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Hertz has been a member of two CMS Technical Expert Panels on Population Health Measures.
