This session will examine the future of Performance Measurement under Population Based Payment (PBP) models, considering how to build upon the vision and recommendations outlined in the recent LAN white paper on this topic. Performance measurement is understood to be critical to the long-term success and sustainability of population-based payment (PBP) models, and there is broad consensus that more outcomes-oriented measures are required. Yet significant practical, technical, methodological and cultural barriers exist. Panelists with expertise in the development, implementation and use of clinical and patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) will consider specific and immediate steps that can be taken to begin to address these barriers and to make significant progress toward achieving a more outcomes-oriented measure set.
