Paul Harkaway – Trinity Health

Dr. Harkaway joined CHE Trinity Health in January, 2012 to help lead the efforts around clinical integration and population health management. He is responsible for working with other key leaders in CHE Trinity Health to help with its transition to an integrated delivery system in each of the communities served. That transition must assure that CHE Trinity Health can be successful in the future both with the new integrated models of care as well as with new value based payment arrangements.

In his life prior to joining CHE Trinity Health, Dr. Harkaway spent more than 25 years caring for patients with pulmonary disease and critical illness at Saint Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. After completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in 1976, he graduated from the Wayne State University School of Medicine in 1980. Dr. Harkaway completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor in 1984 and his Fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine in 1986 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.

Dr. Harkaway has been involved in medical management and leadership in several capacities and served as the President of the Huron Valley Physician Association (a large Independent Physician Association in Ann Arbor, Michigan) for over 10 years. In this role, he successfully led the independent physician community in their efforts to perform as a valued and respected virtually integrated group.
