Clara Filice, M.D., M.P.H., M.H.S., FAAP, is the deputy chief medical officer for MassHealth, where she provides clinical, policy, and strategic leadership to Massachusetts Medicaid and CHIP programs. She oversees MassHealth’s quality, equity, and population health programs, offering nearly $1 billion in incentives annually to promote delivery of high quality, equitable, and high value care for 2.2 million MassHealth members. She leads population health initiatives related to pediatric care, chronic disease, and social determinants of health.
Dr. Filice earned her M.D. and M.P.H. degrees at Northwestern, completed pediatric residency at Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, and was a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholar at the Yale School of Medicine where she completed a Master of Health Science degree focused on health services research. She is an assistant professor at UMass Chan Medical School in the Department of Population and Quantitative Health Sciences and is board-certified in pediatrics.
