Catalyst for Payment Reform

 

Andréa Caballero, M.P.A., is the vice president of Policy at Catalyst for Payment Reform (CPR), an independent nonprofit corporation working to catalyze employers, public purchasers, and others to implement strategies that produce higher-value health care and improve the functioning of the health care marketplace. Andrea has over two decades of experience in nonprofit programs, strategic planning, operations, and policy in the health care industry.

As CPR’s vice president of Policy, Andrea has a broad portfolio and specializes in measuring payment reform at the state and national level, performing qualitative and quantitative assessments of local markets, and developing request for information (RFI) and model contract language for purchasers as they procure health care services. She also evaluates and reports on price transparency resources for consumers, assists purchasers in direct contracting and pharmacy-­related issues, and possesses a deep understanding of public policy issues. Andrea joined CPR after 15 years working on state and federal public policy issues for large national health plans. Her last position was as vice president for Enterprise & Health Services Policy for UnitedHealth Group.

In addition to her duties at CPR, Andrea serves on the Board of Directors for the Community Hospital of Long Beach Foundation. She received her Master of Public Administration from Brandman University and her Bachelor of Arts degrees from Ripon College. Andrea is a certified professional mediator through the Scheinman Institute on Conflict Resolution at Cornell University’s ILR School.
